Who We Are & What We Do?

Sparta Youth Hockey Association is a volunteer-lead, non-profit organization.  Our goal is to encourage, promote and improve the standards of youth ice hockey in Sparta and the surrounding area.  By focusing on these goals, we'll continue to have constant growth in our players, build a strong foundation for the Sparta High School Hockey program, and add a substantialboost to the winter economy in Sparta.

What's In It For Your Business?

Youth Hockey is a sport unique to other youth sports.  Most youth sports programs have an average season of 1-2 months.  Youth Hockey in Sparta runs from October - March.  This means your sponsorship dollar goes almost 4 times further than other youth sports, which means you'll reach more people over a longer period of advertising time = greater return on investment!

Over the course of 1 six month season, our rink sees over 6,000 unique people come through our doors with many people coming through multiple times per season.   People can visit the rink and watch youth games and practices for free.  We only charge admission for our public skate (no hockey gear or pucks), public hockey (full hockey gear and pucks) and high school games.

Where Do Your Funds Go?

Sparta Youth Hockey is different that many other youth hockey organizations in the region.  Our uniqueness being our members volunteer and donate their much of their time yearround maintain, upgrade, and keep the facility running top notch.  Most other associations' facilities are managed and/or owned by a different entity like their City, County or were gifted to them.  Membership/Skater fees alone do not cover the costs, which is why SYHA families work extra hard and rely on sponsors like you.  Below are a few examples of where your sponsorship funds will be applied:

  • Scholarship funds
  • New player equipment (skates, helmets, pads, gloves, etc.)
  • Enhancing our programs like Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, Try Hockey For Free
  • General rink enhancements like rubber flooring, locker room expansions, automation tool, new LED lighting, scoreboards, etc.
